Website privacy notice

The Government of Canada and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal (the “Tribunal") are committed to providing visitors with websites that respect their privacy.

This website does not automatically gather any specific personal information from you, such as your name, phone number or email address. We only obtain this type of information if you supply it by sending us an email or registering in a secure part of the site.

The Privacy Act governs all personal information that the Tribunal creates, hold or collects. This means that the Tribunal will inform you of the purpose for which your personal information is being collected and how you can access that information. If you register to receive news from the Tribunal, you have given us consent to collect your personal information to complete that request.

The Tribunal does not normally use "cookies" to track how its visitors use this site or to determine which sites its visitors have previously visited. The system will notify you before it uses any cookies so that you may refuse them. (A “cookie” is a file that a website may place on your hard drive without your knowledge to allow it to monitor your use of the site.)

If you ask us to do something for you, such as provide you with a form, we will use the personal information you provided to us to fulfill that request. Otherwise, we will not use your personal information for any other purpose.

Please contact us if you have any questions on how we handle your personal information and privacy. If you are not satisfied with our response to your privacy concern, you may wish to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
